Welcome to the jukebox

What happens when you put $$$ in a Jukebox? (For those too young to know, you get music!)

Our JUKEBOX represents a portal to collect support for all of our future projects. All donations go directly into music production not Lil’ Red’s donut addiction or wine. and cheese. for. the Rooster. In return, you will be invited into the behind the scenes journey. There are different levels to choose from and for as little as $5 you can join the ride. Have a look or listen to the different options and find what best fits you. You also have the choice to make it a subscription and with this you’ll be adored and appreciated as one of our Creme de la Creme. Please be patient as we work with you to make this a True Fan win/win!

Why?:

The music industry is changing rapidly and we’re getting creative and adapting along with it. In the past, CD sales have covered the cost of recording the next album. Since streaming has grown in popularity there are less and less physical music sales. To make enough money streaming to cover costs of production, it requires recording often, a large fan base and a little luck getting on playlists or picked up for film and TV. We could record at home one track at a time, like most contemporary music, but we want to hire real top notch musicians, go into the studio and sink deep into a groove to give you music that swings, bounces and leaves you feeling good. We’ve created an opportunity for you to let us know directly the value our music has for you, your life and community. You’ll be supporting, not only us, but the artists we hire as well, including the musicians, studio, engineers, photographers, graphic artists and other artists.

The artists for the album “7”!

  • Jennifer Milligan - Vocals - Percussion - Guitar

Lil’ Red, born in Columbus, Ohio in the late 60’s, grew up riding horses and playing in the creek until she discovered the arts. She loved Hollywood movie musicals especially Bojangles, Gene Kelly, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and the Nicolas Brothers. Rhythm and groove have always been her deep love. She studied everything in the arts: music, dance, acting, writing, painting, martial arts and meditation. She graduated from Fort Hayes Performing Arts High School for theater, holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and an MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University. In the musicals, Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar, she toured the US, Canada and Europe working with magnificent performers like Ted Neeley, Carl Anderson, Denis DeYoung and LaChance. Master jazz dance teacher, Luigi took her under his wing as her NYC Papa and for over twenty seven years she studied the flow and grace of this man who danced in the films with Gene Kelly. Always a carefree soul, Lil’ Red has lived a life of adventures and challenges, all of which go into her lyrics and presence on stage. She cares deeply about humanity and believes as an artist she has a responsibility to do her part to shape the culture we live in. Here’s how she works ... “mix what’s pissing you off with some bounce and swing, sprinkle a pinch of Blue notes and bend it all together on six strings and you’re guaranteed a feel good satisfaction.”

  • PASCAL FOUQUET - Guitars

Pascal Fouquet has an eloquence in his playing that reaches back to the legends who taught him, always with a tone and style completely his own. He's a guitarist's guitar player.

Born in Normandy, France in the early 60’s, Pascal began studying classical guitar at eleven and discovered the Blue note a few years later. Since 1980 he’s been a professional musician and never ceases to give homage to his master teachers: B.B. King, Albert King, T-Bone Walker, Kenny Burrell ... and many others. A multi-award winning guitarist he’s had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many great artists including: Diunna Greenleaf, Dave Specter, Mike Sanchez, Steve Clayton, Russell Jackson, Candye Kane, Alex Shultz, Kid Ramos, Sax Gordon, Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne and Sean Castello. His story is in his playing. If you want to know more catch him with a whiskey or espresso and he’ll share with you face to face. That’s how the Rooster rolls and with his guitar he crows.

  • Lap Steel Guitar

    https://www.colinjohnmusic.net/new-page-1

“Colin John has electrified audiences worldwide with blues, rock, and American roots music. Extended stops for the British-American guitarist include Memphis – where he played in B.B. King’s Blues Club’s house band – and Hawaii, where he dove headfirst into the crystal blue ocean, as well as Hawaiian slack-key guitar and the lap steel.

    — John Burnett, Hawaii Tribune Herald

Born in Ohio to a British architect father and Italian artist mother, Colin spent his youth in Memphis, picking up guitar by accident:

"I was playing trumpet in the school band and I punctured my ear drum in a football game. So the Band director put me in the concert band playing double bass with a bow, and from there I progressed to electric bass in the jazz band at school and then switched to guitar.”"Colin was also busy soaking up classic Chicago blues and Memphis soul during this time.

After graduating from Ohio University, Colin turned pro. Answering an ad in The Village Voice, he landed the guitar spot with the NYC based Little Mike and The Tornadoes. While he had to share the spotlight with guest heavy weights, such as Howlin’ Wolf guitarist Hubert Sumlin and Ronnie Earl, Colin represented himself well in solo spots. This stint with Little Mike gave Colin the chance to mingle with a number of blues notables, including one-time Muddy Waters pianist Pinetop Perkins, who continually referred to the upcoming guitarist as “Collard Greens” Eventually, Colin and the Tornadoes rhythm section would head off to tour the South as the Root Doctors. Discouraged after a hurricane stranded them in Florida, the threesome went their separate ways. Colin chose to hook up with friends in Memphis. The timing couldn’t have been better.

Memphis became fertile ground for the budding musician. Playing lead in the house band on Saturday afternoons at B.B. Kings’ Beale Street club, Colin would often back visiting artists from Hank Ballard to James Cotton to Pinetop Perkins and Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown. Absorbing all these influences, Colin learned that the main thing was to be sure to have your own style and identity, use all your influence and distill them and present them in your own voice.

Reconnecting with his European roots, Colin moved to London in 1993. Colin spent ten years in the U.K., forming the Colin John Band and working with some veteran musicians who worked with Eric Clapton, Henry Spinetti – one of Eric’s old drummers who also played with George Harrison and Paul McCartney, Dave Bronze, who plays bass on and off with Eric and Gary Brooker from Procol Harum.

Since forming The Colin John Band, the group has played extensively in England, the USA, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Holland, Canada, Belgium, Denmark and Spain.

Colin has toured and shared stages with a “Who’s Who” of blues and rock artists including B.B.King, John Mayall,Marshall Crenshaw,Deanna Bogart,Scott Holt,The Outlaws,Long Tall Deb, Michael Hill, Chris Duarte, Everclear, Hubert Sumlin, and many others.

After opening for John Mayall on a multi-island tour of Hawaii in 2001, Colin became enamored of the people, culture and music and moved to the Big Island where he dove into the roots of the blues slide guitar;Hawaiian steel guitar.

Studying the music of past masters and with current proponent Alan Akaka, Colin became proficient on the instrument and continues to utilize it both Live and on recording sessions.
